Good morning and Happy Wednesday,
Does anyone else feel like they’re just now getting up to speed for the week? Today is my third day of unemployment, and I finally kind of feel like I’m getting the hang of it. To clarify, I’m still in the “enjoy the time off with no guilt or job searching” phase – the most fun of all the phases. So you’d think it would be a pretty easy phase to get the hang of… But you’d be wrong.
There’s a lot of (self imposed) pressure to make the most of each and every day. I want to be productive (laundry, dinner prep, cleaning), but I also want to spend time doing all the things I’ve missed doing while working at an office job (leisurely coffee, yoga, baking, patio gardening, etc).
And there’s a trap that comes with working from home all day… One I actually anticipated as being a challenge: the opportunity to constantly snack. I am absolutely an ‘out of sight, out of mind’ kind of girl, but even if it’s fully out of sight, I still know if it’s in the house. In the office, I only have access to the snacks (or lack thereof) that I brought that day. At home, I have full rein of the kitchen, all day. With that in mind, here’s a look at what I ate yesterday.
WIAW
9:00am – Bulletproof coffee
11:00am [WORKOUT] – Yoga @ LA Fitness (primarily stretching and talking about “expansion”)
11:30pm – Stovetop Banana Oats w/ chia and flax seeds, topped with toasted almonds, sunflower seed butter, and honey
3:00pm – More than a couple squares of these Banana Oat Bars (recipe coming soon)
7:00pm [WORKOUT] – Back to LA Fitness with Andrew for an Arm day and some Interval sprints. I did this arm workout (by Peanut Butter Fingers) using 7.5 lb weights. It was quick but effective. I’m feeling it today, in a good way.
8:30pm – Baked chicken and sweet potatoes. The chicken took a while to reach the safe “chicken temperature”, which is 165 degrees in case you were wondering, so we started with our baked sweet potatoes (crumbled bacon on top).
And then sliced up the chicken (“breaded” with panko crumbs and spices).
Aaaand of course, around 10pm we broke out the Banana Oat Bars again. Looking back, I didn’t do too bad on the snacking front, but I’m now realizing that I didn’t eat ANYthing green yesterday. Huh. My bad.
Happy Wednesday, everyone. 🙂
